THE NEW BRUNSWICK DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH One Patient One Record (OPOR) Project

The New Brunswick DoH, with the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) and FacilicorpNB, has
established a provincial EHR that includes one health record for each individual within the
province’s healthcare system.
Initially, the EHR includes:

  • Demographic information (name, date of birth, address, etc.).
  • Laboratory test results (Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Challenge).
  • Diagnostic imaging reports (MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and X-ray).
  • Certain encounters (emergency visits and inpatient admissions) within the RHAs.
